All works are printed by hand using a Japanese bamboo leaf baren, a Kean Ball Bearing Baren or a wooden spoon. This practice began as an alternative to using a press, which can be expensive even to rent. However, the sensory gratification from burnishing the paper and repeatedly inspecting the print made printing by hand a process of choice.
I often hand embellish prints to achieve textures and other effects essential to complete the narrative and meaning of a given piece.
